Tickets on sale for JCC Jewish film fest

Tickets for Sid Jacobson JCC’s Randi and Bruce Pergament Jewish Film Festival will go on sale on Monday, May 8 at 9 a.m.

The festival, returning for the 24th year, features documentaries, comedies and short films.

The festival kicks off on Wednesday, June 21 at 7:30 p.m. with the documentary “On the Map” about the 1977 Maccabi Tel Aviv basketball team that brought the first European Cup to Israel.

The New York premiere of the comedy, “Let Yourself Go,” which tells the story of Elia, a psychoanalyst who lives on the same floor as his ex-wife who he is still in love with, will take place on Wednesday, June 28 at 7:30 p.m. and Thursday, June 29 at 2 p.m.

The festival runs until Thursday, July 27, with a different film being shown every week.

These films include “The Women’s Balcony,” Israel’s number one film of 2016, on Wednesday, July 12 and Thursday, July 13, and the Oscar-nominated documentary short, “Joe’s Violin.”

Wednesday night films are shown at 7:30 p.m. and Thursday matinee films are shown at 2:00 p.m.
