The message of “Goldfish From Pluto” focuses on environmental education, anti-bullying through positive relationships, and healthy living to combat and prevent childhood obesity. The cast of lively characters, along with an engaging storyline, focuses on its mission to save the earth and their home planet. Key elements include: environmental education, teamwork, inclusiveness and active lifestyles. The goal of the festival is to bring our characters and their ideals to life through live performances with original songs, dynamic group activities, and hands-on educational opportunities and community building. There will be live performances from the Goldfish From Pluto Band, along with lots of fun activities like puppet shows, magic shows, slides, bouncers, face painting and much more! National S’mores Day with the Girl Scouts

Garvies Point Day

There will be programs, films and crafts! You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown Summer Concert in Memorial Park

Magical History Tours of Port Washington
Saturdays and Sundays through October
The Cow Neck Peninsula Historical Society invites you to join us on The Magical History Tour – 90-minute, docent-led, narrated walking tours along Port Washington’s Historic Bay Walk. Tours are happening now through the end of October on the first Saturday and first Sunday of the month. Tours will start at the Town Dock and end at the Port North dock, across the street from Stop & Shop. Local history of the Port Washington peninsula will include the shell fishing industry, sand mining, local aviation (and the first commercial flights to Europe) as well as the development of the local waterfront. See Port Washington as you never have before! Reservations are required, and may be made online at Cow Neck’s website or Facebook page. Group size limited to 15 and the fee is $8 for adults, $5 for seniors (65+) and kids are just $1 (12 and under). Children in strollers or backpacks are free. Please wear comfortable shoes for the 1-mile tour. Walk-ins will be accommodated if the group size has not been met (please bring cash or check only on the day of the tour).

Activities at Sands Point Preserve Outdoor Fun, It’s a Science!

A lot of science goes into outdoor fun. Learn by doing during this workshop where families will make a magnetic compass; learn the aerodynamics of flying a Frisbee; formulate the correct surface tension for blowing the best bubbles; and investigate the features needed for the kite you create. Members $10, Non-Members $20.
Summer Family Yoga
