Step into Spring Opening Weekend

Step Into Spring during our 2016 opening weekend! Come see how maple sugar was made in the 19th century. There will be music, historic trades and springtime activities. Old Bethpage Village Restoration is a living history museum that provides visitors with the unique opportunity to step back in time and experience life as it was on Long Island during the 19th century. The village consists of 36 houses, barns, and buildings dating from 1765 through 1865.

AMC Sensory Friendly Films helps families affected by autism. They offer monthly films so that kids can enjoy their favorite films in a safe and accepting environment. Each program has their lights up, the sound turned down, and audience members are invited to get up and dance, walk, shout, or sing! Fearing the actions of a god-like super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.

It’s a Disappearing Act

Saturday, April 9 and Sunday, April 10, 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Take a trip out east and see what your kids can do! Every week the Maritime Explorium features a different hands-on interactive investigation for the thinkers and makers. Visitors can also enjoy many of the regular exhibits. This week, explore how animals hide in nature, and also create an animal that can disappear! Cost: $5 per person/free for members and children under 1.

Birds of a Feather, Snack Together

Treasure Island

Excitement runs high in this musical adaptation of a favorite childhood adventure story. Robert Louis Stevenson’s thrilling  tale of pirates, treasure maps, mutiny on the high seas and pieces of eight follows Jim Hawkins, an ordinary youth drawn into a dangerous race for buried treasure against the treacherous Long John Silver. Cost: $11 per ticket.

6th Annual All Kids Fair

Sunday, April 10, 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Join us for the 6th annual All Kids Fair, a celebration of life on Long Island for kids and their families! Spend the day enjoying 24 classes for kids of all ages, including GaGa, story time, archery, reiki, gymnastics, baby and baby ballet, all included with admission. Be entertained by a juggler from the Big Apple Circus! Take a photo with QuackerJack of the Long Island Ducks.  Enjoy a meet-and-greet with Adiel Torres of Telemundo’s version of The Voice Kids. Free face painting, crepes, cotton candy, balloon animals, airbrush tattoos, popcorn, photo booth, and much more. Experience that excellent after-school activity you only dreamed about.  Enjoy music, art, and bracelet making classes.  Learn about fabulous camps and schools located all over Long Island.
