Temple Judea has a very successful singles group, gaining in popularity amongst Long Island singles.

On Dec. 4, the Temple Judea Singles held a Chanukah and Holiday singles get-together. More than 100 singles from Long Island and the surrounding areas attended and celebrated the holidays with warm friendship, refreshments, a program and a musical performance.

The holiday program was presented by the temple’s own Rabbi Todd Chizner and the temple’s Student Cantor Mariel Guarrera-Ashkenazy. Chizner spoke about the holidays and how they compared to other religions, present and historical. The cantor sang songs about the holidays from all backgrounds.

She also had the audience singing along and clapping to the music! The evening also included their famous Dreidel Spin Contest, awarding prizes to all participants.

The singles were delighted with the program as well as with the wide variety of refreshments, including hot potato latkes, fruit and veggie dishes, wine and cheese, and coffee, cake and sodas. They also enjoyed meeting new friends.

Temple Judea Singles is organized by Temple Judea’s Board Member Jerry Perelman and temple’s member Sharon Daniels.
