On a bitingly cold evening, more than 75 Temple Judea congregants — children and adults — huddled together celebrating the second night of Hanukkah on the front lawn of Temple Judea.
The giant nine-foot Menorah was lit as Rabbi Todd Chizner and Student Cantor Mariel Guarerra-Ashkenazy led the group with blessings of the holiday.
Then all gratefully went inside to the warmth of the Social Hall where they enjoyed latkes, traditional Hanukkah potato pancakes, jelly donuts, a Hanukkah tradition, and hot chocolate.
Many families brought along their menorahs and lit their candles as they chanted the Hanukkah blessings. The students had fun spinning dreidels, a Hanukkah game beloved for generations.
The community joined together in singing Hanukkah songs, led by our Student Cantor as well as by Lauren Resnikoff, Education Director.
