Holocaust survivor Irving Roth relayed his personal story of surviving Auschwitz to Temple Beth Sholom’s seventh graders during their recent visit to the Holocaust Resource Center at Temple Judea.

The memory of the 6 million Jewish men, women and children who were murdered in ghettos, concentration and death camps during WWII,  the survivors who rose from the ashes, those who risked their lives to save Jews from the hands of the Nazi murderers and the Allied soldiers who destroyed the Nazi tyranny were all discussed.

The permanent historical and art exhibits further helped the students to learn about the evils of prejudice and the importance of combating ignorance, hatred and violence.
