John Lewis Childs School students participated in the “Great Kindness Challenge” during the week of Jan. 27. From Tuesday to Thursday, the school celebrated with different theme and spirit days, including “Dream of Kindness” pajama day, a “Team Kindness” jersey day, and a “Peace, Love, and Kindness” hippie day.

Students in all grade-levels received a kindness checklist to complete and were also able to participate in kindness stations at lunch. The stations were run by fourth and fifth graders from the school’s Ambassador Club.

On Jan. 29, students eagerly lined up for the Fortune Teller station outside of the cafeteria. Ambassador Club members Riley Turner, Olivia Elliott, Alexandra Rella, Christina DePaola, and Steven Tally used paper fortune tellers to “predict” an act of kindness a student should complete, such as hugging a teacher, smiling at a stranger or singing.
