Six Roslyn High School students from the Class of 2020 have qualified as semifinalists in this year’s National Merit Scholarship program and were honored at the Board of Education meeting on Sept. 19.

These students are among 16,000 nationwide to be named semifinalists, representing less than one percent of high school seniors in the United States. About 1.5 million juniors in more than 21,000 U.S. high schools entered the 2020 National Merit Program by taking the 2018 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT). These scholastically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,600 Merit Scholarship awards that will be awarded next spring. Pictured are (l. to r.)
