Sewanhaka senior robotics club wins multiple awards

The Sewanhaka Central High School District Senior Robotics Club competed and received several awards at a FIRST Tech Challenge Regional Qualifying Tournament organized by the School-Business Partnerships of Long Island, Inc. (SBPLI), which was held remotely from March 15-22.

Sewanhaka was recognized with the first place Inspire Award, second-place Think Award, second place Collins Aerospace Innovate Award, second-place Control Award sponsored by Arm, Inc., third place Connect Award and third-place Motivate Award.

FIRST Tech Challenge students learn to think like engineers, and teams design, build and code robots to compete in a new game each year. This year’s game, ULTIMATE GOAL℠ presented by Qualcomm®, required students to build a robot to pick up foam rings from the floor and launch them into one of three different goals positioned on one side of a 12-foot by 8-foot field.
