On Feb. 14, the Sewanhaka Central High School District Rifle Team won the Nassau County championship with a score of 742 out of a possible 800. The team is comprised of New Hyde Park students Aisha Abdelhamid, Valerie Hoffer, Noorpreet Kaur, Anika Mathai, Kyra Ramdarie and Emily Yuan. Robert Marino serves as coach. Kyra was the highest scorer of the match, earning 192 out of 200 points. The team will now compete in the New York State championship at West Point on March 2.
