Marlon Wayans Special Comedy Event

Best-known for working with his brothers on the TV show “In Living Color” and films like “Scary Movie” and “White Chicks,” actor and comedian Marlon Wayans will be performing at the Suffolk Theater. A member of one of Hollywood’s most talented families, Wayans likely has plenty of funny stories to tell from his experiences. Ticket prices range from $65 to $79.

Disco Unlimited

The Plattduetsche Park Biergarten will be taking attendees back in time to the era of disco, thanks to the dance group “Disco Unlimited.” The group’s powerful vocals, tight harmonies and groovy dancing, along with a synchronized stage and light show, should help to provide quite the concert atmosphere. Tickets to the event are $75, plus a small online service fee.

LI Woodworkers Show

The 23rd Annual LI Woodworkers Show will feature handcrafted furniture, woodturnings, wood carvings, scrollsawing and a tool garage sale. For kids in attendance, there will be a toy workshop with free wooden toys. Other features that will be available include a gift shop, seminars and live demonstrations. Admission is free, though there is a paid admission to Old Bethpage Village Restoration.

Sneaker Fest Long Island

Sneaker Fest is a convention where fashion and sneaker enthusiasts come from the tri-state area meet up and network with each other. Some of the rarest and most valuable sneakers and clothing will be available for collectors to buy, sell or trade with each other. There is expected to be more than 50 vendors on sight, so there’s a good chance collectors in attendance may find something new to add to their collections.

A Sousa Salute to Our United States Armed Forces

The “Atlantic Wind Symphony” will be performing some of John Phillip Sousa’s most popular works of music, as well as other patriotic songs in celebration of Veterans Day. Founded in 1968, the Atlantic Wind Symphony is Long Island’s oldest fully professional concert band. Each musician in it is from Long Island.

John Phillip Sousa wrote ten operas during his career in music. He also spent 12 years as the conductor for the “United States Marine Band.”

Hits of the 60s and 70s With Kellie Nicole

Kellie Nicole will be at the Jeanne Rimsky Theater, performing acoustic arrangements of some of the best R&B, Motown and rock songs from the 1960s and 1970s. Among the artists she’ll be covering are Linda Ronstadt, Smokey Robinson, Otis Redding, James Taylor and the “Rolling Stones.” No tickets or reservations are required for the event.

Cradle of Aviation Museum’s 17th Annual Air and Space Gala

The “Air and Space Gala” helps the museum raise money to support the development of new activities and educational programs. This year’s gala will honor the innovations of leaders in aviation, technical achievement and leadership. Apollo 10 Commander Lt. Gen. Thomas P. Stafford will be presented with the “Spirit of Discovery Award.” CEO & President, Transaero, Inc., Perry K. Youngwall will receive the “Leroy Grumman Award.”  Additionally, the “Aviation Leadership Award” will be given to Huntley A. Lawrence​​​​​​​, director of the aviation department for “Port Authority” of New York and New Jersey.
