Searingtown School celebrated the community’s rich diversity with a Heritage Festival held on March 26. Students showcased their family history and traditions and realized the many ways in which people all over the world are alike and united.

Students researched their individual family ancestry and created “All About Me Books” that portrayed special events, holidays, family stories, customs and much more. They shared their books, along with pictures, in class on the day of the festival.

Students also created heritage dolls representative of their personalities and ethnicities. Many students came to school dressed in traditional cultural attire, and several demonstrated knowledge of other languages.
