The impending nor’easter didn’t dampen the spirits of students at H. Frank Carey as they took the field for homecoming on Oct. 26 – a day earlier than planned.

Students in the homecoming court walked the runway placed near the sidelines before the game. Congratulations to seniors Layla Morgan and Evan Zuppani, who were named homecoming queen and king. Also recognized before the game was the school’s special homecoming honoree, Superintendent of Schools Dr. Ralph Ferrie. The students applauded Dr. Ferrie, who is retiring at the end of the school year, for all of his efforts on behalf of the district’s students.

The Seahawks took an early lead and were ultimately victorious, defeating Mepham High School handily, 35-6. The halftime show impressed as the marching band, Pirettes, varsity and junior varsity cheerleaders entertained the crowd.
