Two mayor seats, eight trustee seats and two village justice seats in municipalities across the Roslyn area will be up for grabs on Election Day, Tuesday, March 16.

Notably absent from the list is the Village of Roslyn Harbor, which will not hold elections this year.

ROSLYN ESTATES

Mayor Paul Leone Peters and Trustee Brett Auerbach are up for two-year terms, while Trustee Georgann Polatov will not seek re-election. Resident Susan Rubenstein is running in her place. Village Justice Robert Mauer is also up for re-election. All candidates are unopposed.

Residents can vote at Village Hall, located at 25 the Tulips in Roslyn Estates, between noon  and 9 p.m.

ROSLYN

Mayor John Durkin is up for re-election, as are Trustees Marta Genovese and Sarah Oral. All three are seeking two-year terms and are uncontested.

Residents can vote at Village hall at 1200 Old Northern Blvd.  in Roslyn from noon to 9 p.m.

OLD WESTBURY

No members of the Board of Trustees will be voted on, but village Justice Susan J. Schmidt-Chorost is up for another four-year term. She is running unopposed.

Residents can vote at Village Hall at 1 Store Hill Road in Old Westbury.

FLOWER HILL

Trustees Frank Genese, seeking a third term, and Mary Jo Collins, seeking a first full term after serving the rest of Mayor Brian Herrington’s term as a trustee, will run for election to two-year seats. Trustee Claire Dorfman, who was appointed last November after the late Mayor Robert McNamara was elected a trustee, is seeking a one-year term. All three, representing the Flower Hill Party, are running unopposed.

Notably absent from the ballot this year is Trustee Jay Beber. A resident of the village’s Roslyn area, he has served on the board since 2014 and chose to retire after serving three terms.

Financial professional Max Frankel has filed a petition to run for Beber’s free seat under the Flower Hill Party. According to his bio on the Flower Hill Party’s website, Frankel grew up in the village’s Roslyn area and moved back in 2012.

Beber endorsed Frankel in a statement to Blank Slate Media. “I couldn’t be happier with the nomination of Max Frankel,” Beber said. “He will bring his energy and unique perspective to what is a very well run and organized village.”

Village residents can vote at Village Hall at 1 Bonnie Heights Road in Manhasset from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., or pick up absentee ballots from Village Hall and drop them off by Monday.
