Roslyn students win writing awards and accolades

Roslyn High School senior Ryan H. Kim’s critical essay “This Is Us, It Always Has Been,” had won a Regional Gold Key in the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards in 2018. His essay then went on to win a National Silver Medal and has been published in the Best Teen Writing of 2018.

Roslyn junior Sydney Rothschild had two of her photographs from her current project, a Travelogue in word and image, published online by Travel + Leisure and National Geographic.

Nicole Lee, a junior, and Gemma Schneider, a senior, have both won regional gold keys in the 2019 Scholastic Writing Awards. Lee won for her poem “Maniac Dream Girl” and her short story “Something Feathered.” Schneider won for her poem “Our Last Meeting.” They are both now eligible for national gold medals.
