Roslyn High School served as the venue for the New York State School Music Association’s (NYSSMA) annual spring adjudication festival hosted by the Roslyn School District March 27 and 28. Harbor Hill School Music Teacher Kathleen Miller was instrumental in organizing and managing the festival. All of the Roslyn school district music teachers participated in the two-day event. Approximately 1,300 students and their parents visited from ten school districts, including Roslyn. Thirty rooms were staffed with NYSSMA adjudicators and two zone representatives from NYSSMA overseeing the entire festival with Miller. Roslyn High School music teacher Michael Coffey recruited and organized close to 90 high school student volunteer workers. The school districts that visited were Locust Valley, East Williston, North Shore, Glen Cove, Friends Academy, Long Island Lutheran, Portledge School, All Saints Regional and Buckley Country Day School.
