Readers Write: Trump’s priorities wrong

The Island Now

Last weekend Vice President-elect Pence attended a performance of “Hamilton.”
Pence, a history buff, was greeted with some boos and cheers.
Actor Brandon Nixon, while holding hands with the cast at the end, reminded Pence that the diversity of the cast represents those in America who are “… alarmed and anxious that the new administration will not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents, or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights.”
Nixon hoped that the show had “…inspired him to uphold our American values and work on behalf of all of us.”
Pence praised the show, which is the story of Alexander Hamilton, and is sold out for months.
In two interviews on television, he said he was not offended.
But Trump, as we could have expected, promptly twittered that the cast should apologize to Pence;  he chose to berate the cast, noting that the show is overrated.
At a time when he was meeting with potential cabinet members, he managed to depart from his agenda a few times, to peevishly express his chagrin.
Oh well!
