Let me just say this: What the insurrectionists did by attacking our Capital was appalling not to mention an assault on our democracy. The Jan. 6 attack was a sad day for our country, and we must not let this happen again.
But what I don’t like is the attack, in my view, by Democrats on my fellow Republicans. Instead of attacking my fellow Republicans we should come together and try to unify our country. As a member of the Queens Village Republican Club, I believe what President Abraham Lincoln once said and that was “a house divided against itself cannot stand.”
That was true in his time as well as our own. It is now time to mend our fences and rebuild our nation. Also remember this: “We are one nation under God and need to move forward.”
