Readers Write: Sima Vasa a good person, right person for Port Library board

The Island Now

I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Sima Vasa for 13 years.

From the moment we met, I found her to be honest, compassionate, and easy to get along with. Having Sima serve on our Library Board would be a wonderful gift to the Port Washington community. It is a privilege to share with you all that is Sima.

Sima is not one to idle on anything, especially the world we live in. Her quest for knowledge and constant desire to better herself is so insatiable as it is motivating. Listeners walk away from her inspired to learn more from her thoughtful insights.

No matter how busy Sima is (CEO of her 2nd Market Research company, hosting a Podcast, speaking at national conventions and other engagements) she never shies away from community commitments.

She has been a Girl Scout leader for 8+ years, co-chair of Green Committee at Sousa for seven years, and implemented a “borrow a book library” at the town dock.

I remember one time she single-handedly rented a U-Haul and drove to an organization in Newark to deliver five pallets of unused school supplies, packed by her family and Girl Scout Troop.

Sima is a collaborate leader, who inspires and challenges people to rise to their potential, and she never gives up on anyone.

She has the most wonderful, well-adjusted family I know and is a role model to her two daughters.  She is genuine and as true to others as she is true to herself. If she gives you her word, never worry she will falter.

There is no doubt in my mind that Sima is the right candidate for this job. She is more than ready and highly capable to take on this endeavor.

She will bring her incredible drive, intellect, open-mindedness, business sense, and collaborative work ethic to help transcend our library to the next level of excellence. Please vote for Sima Vasa on April 10.
