As part of any plan to reopen schools, to whatever degree, might not a Teacher’s PPE gown with mask and shield address one major area of concern to a sufficient degree?
Gov. Cuomo has mentioned PPE production in New York State. Couldn’t such PPE sets be tailored, manufactured, and perhaps styled to a teacher’s requirements as well? Worn over comfortable street clothes, they should be provided for all teachers (this might help build a comfort level with the PPE set in young eyes).
Along with reasonable monitoring, testing, distancing and proper sanitary practices, we can keep our teachers safe, a vital step in keeping schools open.
