Readers Write: Plaza unfriendly to shoppers

The Island Now

want to thank Marilyn Hoffman for giving me additional insight into Great Neck’s problems.

In Europe, a traffic circle is called a roundabout. It is something that really has no exits, and just keeps going.

On Aug. 30, I was on the plaza so that I could buy stamps. I left the Post Office at 11 a.m., and  about 50 parking spaces were empty in the area.

Obviously everyone has gotten the message that they are not wanted.

If I could eat for free I would patronize every restaurant on the Plaza.

I am an octogenarian, likely to need care at a facility sometime soon.

Will they allow the facility on the Plaza permission for an Alzheimer’s floor or is that too gory.

I have never shopped Shop Delight. I do not use hosher food except when it is already packaged for national use.

I wanted to buy gefilte fish, but could not park — so I left; the jarred stuff is good enough.

I am not used to the delights of free meals, but I do get them occasionally.

I suggest that the Plaza construct a three-story parking garage for 300 cars over the LIRR tracks, build a mansion (White House) on top, and direct it to be the mayor’s official residence, as many cities have that perk.

I predict that more stores will be empty.

The hamburger place in the Gardens just closed. I usually go elsewhere.

That landlord (lady) did multiple renovations but was not required to conform to the disabilities act; their front door is still not ‘accommodating’.

In fact the other day one door was missing!
