Readers Write: Opiods, not marijuana, is the big problem

The Island Now

On a daily basis, one sees a multitude of ads for so many medical products  ‘for this and that’ followed by “See your doctor, see your doctor.” There has to be much money involved to pay for so much ad time.

One day I heard about doctors making hordes of money prescribing opioids.

As I am typing this, another like ad appears on TV.

Add to the above how these days it is so prevalent and distressing also how money buys our government.

Medical marijuana has been credited with having better benefits than opioids and other products and does not produce a high.

I passed through the pot thing 50 years ago. It interests me no more. I prefer my clear unbounded mind so much more not to say though that there weren’t fun party times in those days.

There were some who went on to hard drugs who have been long gone.

To my knowledge, no one has ever died due to marijuana.
