Readers Write: NYC needs another revolution

The Island Now

I was chief-of-staff at the New York City Traffic Division during the Koch administration. I know the cost of this BLM-painting undertaking – personnel, materials, trucks and so forth.

Whether through the elimination of traffic lanes and streets for select political messaging or outright state-ignored or state-sanctioned vandalism – which this is – the failure of local governments to contextualize history, in favor of deleting it, will engender an ugly, permanently resentful and divisive populace for generations.

It was a veritable revolution when the Giuliani-Bloomberg era set in. It is high time for another in order to save New York City. It has become abundantly clear across the nation – as there are no Democrats anymore in the mold of Koch, Carey, Nunn, Moynihan and the like – they are no longer capable or fit to run major cities.
