Readers Write: More support for Donald J. Trump

The Island Now

This is my seventh letter expressing my gratitude to President Trump. In previous letters, I listed 121 reasons for my approval. Here are 16 more. This letter emphasizes issues regarding immigration.

Recently, there has been a drastic change due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Previously, Democrats were championing “open borders” and “free medical care to immigrants.” This was virtue signaling at its most virulent and was criminally irresponsible, to say the least. I do not think they will be emphasizing this outlook during the campaign.

Many Democrats had been calling for the disbanding of ICE. This has provoked several attacks on ICE employees. On the other hand, Trump has vigorously supported ICE agents.

In 2019, through November, ICE had arrested about 37,000 criminal aliens. I did say “criminal.” About 8,000 were human traffickers. About 4,000 were child abusers and exploiters. About 2,000 committed identity theft and benefits fraud. About 19,000 had drug and gang-related offenses. In addition, 12,000 pounds of opioids were confiscated. Unbelievably, 145,000 thousand pounds of crystal meth was seized. The confiscation of cash, jewelry, cars, houses, and other assets yielded a windfall of about $775 million dollars.

The DOJ said that if a state-issued driver’s licenses to illegal aliens, then no one from that state would be accepted on “trust to fly lists.” New York State is now subject to that restriction. Thank you, Governor Cuomo.

Trump changed the Asylum laws. A migrant cannot enter the U.S. if they are not coming from their original country. Under pre-Obama administrations, about 5000 per year claimed asylum. Obama exploited the situation and allowed about 100,000 per year. People took advantage of our good-hearted asylum laws for selfish and criminal reasons. They, with Obama, are to blame for undermining what was a decent human rights provision.
The State Department is pursuing a policy to stop “birth tourism” where pregnant women come to the U.S. solely to give birth and then earn the child legal citizenship for being born here. This is another example of having a law with decent intentions and then having ruthless and scheming people take advantage of it.

Trump’s effort to secure the border are working. Illegal border crossings are down to the lowest level since 2013.

Despite fake news cherry-picking individual instances, the actual number of border deaths at the Mexican border have decreased under President Trump.

As previously stated, Trump’s building of the border wall has severely reduced illegal entry into the United States. There has been an increase in the number of Chinese trying to gain entry. This is obviously a health risk. They are being apprehended.

Trump withheld funds from Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador for not controlling their migrant populations. They allowed caravans to form. Trump also said the same thing to Mexico and threatened to close the entire southern border if they did not stop the illegal emigration from their country. As an additional incentive, Trump threatened to impose a five percent tariff on all Mexican products if they did not comply.

What was the result? Mexico placed thousands of troops to secure the Southern Border. Once cooperation commenced, Trump began restoring financial aid.

The drug cartels massacred three American mothers and six children who lived on a Mormon settlement in Mexico. Trump told Mexico, it had better handle the cartel problem themselves or he would do it for them. Mexico has now deployed their elite marines to fight the drug cartels in response to this pressure, Mexico’s previous policy of cartel appeasement has been abandoned.

Remember the flack Trump got when he stopped immigration from a list of countries, most of them Muslim dominated? Well, Obama, the deceitful, traitorous creature that he is, had allowed many refugees into the U.S. from those very same countries. With his usual underhanded scheming, he actually allowed the Iraqi government to “vet” the applicants.

The “vetting” process was full of corruption, some of it involving an “interpreter scam.” This program allowed Ali Yousef Al-Nouri to enter the U.S. Al-Nouri was instrumental in the battle of Fallujah that killed and wounded hundreds of American servicemen. It was considered the heaviest urban combat since Vietnam. Al-Nouri later claimed refugee status.

He was admitted to the U.S. and subsequently submitted a fraudulent application for disability payments. This was approved. Believe it or not, he went on to teach U.S. military contractors in Arizona. He has now been arrested. By the way, Janet Napolitano, another genius, was governor of Arizona at the time. With her blinding insight, Obama then qualified her to become the head of the Department of Homeland Security. We have some real wizards as leaders, don’t we? Do you think there is only one cockroach? What harm are others like Al-Nouri planning? Does anyone think “open borders” will help? Trump’s judgment was absolutely correct.

In a landmark case, Trump won a court decision that allows the federal government to withhold federal aid to sanctuary cities.

The Supreme Court upheld Trump’s ruling to deny green cards to legal, yes, that was legal immigrants who were thought to be dependent on government programs.

The DOJ launched a program to revoke citizenship for immigrants that committed horrendous crimes. We are talking about hardened criminals here.

Trump cut off flights from China early in January which showed forethought of handling the coronavirus outbreak. He was criticized for being racist at the time.

The Supreme Court ruled that illegal immigrants can be prosecuted for identity theft when applying for a job under an assumed name. This includes using the social security number of someone else as part of the tax withholding documents submitted when applying for a new job.

The United States has sanctioned 15 Lebanese individuals and companies allegedly tied to Hezbollah’s financial support network. Hezbollah is a U.S. designated terrorist group.
Oh my god. I still have 11-pages of gratitude coming.
