Readers Write: Letter writer parrots Trump’s words

The Island Now

I thank Ms. Palmer for mentioning my name in her letter, “The evil of wokeness in America today.” She refers to my comments about her letter as being rude to her, but the comment, factually Albert Einstein’s, applies to many millions of people out there who have been brainwashed by Donald Trump.

What she is doing is merely parroting the words of the former president. I’m sure she believes that the presidential election was stolen. Yep! Like a good soldier, she falls right in line. But what about listening and believing the words of Trump’s former attorney general, William Barr, who declared that “the U.S. Justice Department has uncovered no evidence of widespread voter fraud that could change the outcome of the 2020 election.” If you still believe he won, logic dictates that we can’t believe anything else you might say that supports his words. The election was fair and square. Move on!

Regarding her current letter, she cites examples of how far Black people have come based upon her exposure to so many in her church and the fact that many others have become so successful, thus denying the existence of “systemic racism.” That’s like me saying my best friend is Black. Her thinking seems to be basic racist thinking, but what’s scary is that although she seems like a well-intentioned person, she isn’t aware that her remarks are racist. Yet she goes on to blame the “left” for spouting out “anti-white propaganda, thus causing division and fostering hate in our country.  Frankly, I’m surprised that she did not go to the other extreme by referring to the many minorities who are in prison for unlawful acts and expanding that to the entire groups.

I won’t get into Ms. Palmer’s ramblings about gender dysphoria for young people except to suggest that she see a psychiatrist or psychologist — not related to her well-being but to find out and understand why these young people have such needs and desires to change their gender.

As for my inability to refute any statement of hers with a cogent argument, all I can say is that all her arguments are based upon Trump’s wrong or false statements, opinions or beliefs. To refute means presenting correct facts and I’ve done that. We’ve had enough of false facts. It’s just a matter of time until Trump’s trial takes place in New York when the truth will come out about his character or lack thereof, his illegal self-interest dealings and hush payments made to women on his behalf. And, to put Trump’s character in proper perspective, another federal prosecutor was just hired as a special assistant district attorney for Trump’s trial, one who previously oversaw the prosecution of members of the Mafia and of the prosecution of Gambino crime boss John Gotti. That’s Trump’s type of company.

And she questions my intellect? Let’s hear it for intellect.
