I am writing in support of Gary Lewandowski and the members of the Flower Hill Party, all of whom are on the March 18 ballot for the Flower Hill Board of Trustees. I have worked alongside Gary on the village’s Architecture Review Committee for the past three years. During that time, I have witnessed firsthand his tireless dedication to and deep passion for the village.
Flower Hill is noted for its beautiful neighborhoods and stately homes, highly-regarded schools and an easy commute into NYC, all of which make our village one of the most desirable places to live on the North Shore. Because of its popularity, our building department is inundated with permit applications, most of which are then referred to the architecture review committee. Committee members spend countless hours reviewing plans and making recommendations to satisfy both applicants and the board while abiding by the village code for architecture review.
It’s a job that requires deep knowledge, great sensitivity, and endless patience, all of which Gary possesses in abundance. These qualities also serve him well in his position as trustee, where he has spearheaded many of the recent enhancements in the village, including the sports courts and play structures in Flower Hill Park, the establishment of the Stonytown Road walking path and the beautification of many of the village’s roadways and traffic islands.
I will be voting for Gary Lewandowski and the rest of Flower Hill party on March 18 because of their exemplary commitment to the village and its residents.
