We have had the opportunity to get to know Brian Herrington over the past few years not only from the neighborhood and school but as the coach of our son’s baseball team.
In that capacity, we have been able to observe the interpersonal skills that make Brian stand out as a leader. Not only is he an all-around nice guy, but he is also fair with time and attention to the kids, helps build up confidence, teaches them to learn from their mistakes and is always there to remind them to have fun doing something they love.
He is generous with his time, making himself available to those around him.
And as things, unfortunately, go sometimes in kids’ sports, when parents and other adults can get overly involved and agitated, we have watched Brian deescalate situations with his calm demeanor and words of reason.
All qualities that have made him a great Flower Hill trustee and deputy mayor so far and will undoubtedly make him an excellent mayor.
