I am writing this letter in support of Michael Glickman’s candidacy for the town
school board.
I have known Michael for the better part of approximately the last 15 years.
In that time, I have been able to observe Michael in his professional capacity,
personal capacity and in his altruistic capacity as he is involved with many
worthy causes surrounding education, culture and the arts.
Michael is a giving person and is willing to donate the appropriate amount of
time to this cause. I humbly place forth the idea that folks often misconstrue
Michael’s passion for certain causes relative to their own complacency.
Michael is simply passionate about what he believes, so I respectfully submit
to this community: please excuse his passion and ‘growth mindset’.
Moreover, relative to this field, Michael far outstrips his competition in terms of
poignant experiences at the highest leadership levels of both the education
vertical as well as ‘skippering’ major cultural institutions in the metropolitan area.
Simply put, he is more experienced at addressing the pertinent issues that
challenge a school district, more multi-dimensional in his daily approach to
issues and more considerate of the burgeoning views of an evolving
community due to his interaction with a better representation of a 21st century
population.
Michael will have the dexterity to address arising issues because he has been
through them in one iteration or another at significant institutions and, through
these transferable skills, possesses the vision and the knowledge of how to
steward this school district forward into the future.
In summary, Michael has more experience, vision and contemporary exposure
than his competition. Michael also has three lovely children attending our
schools so it takes a very little leap of logic to realize he would want the best
for his children and by extension all of ours.
By way of background, I am a parent of two children attending schools in the
district and have full faith in Michael in this endeavor.
