Readers Write: Feeding children with school out

The Island Now

While many of us are thinking about how to enjoy our summer vacations, many children in our area are wondering about breakfast and lunch — now that school’s are closed, the breakfast and lunch programs that so many children rely on are closed, too.

Fortunately, their needs are not forgotten.

The INN’s fourteen soup kitchens across Nassau and Suffolk are dedicated to serving quality, nutritious meals to every child who comes to their doors during June, July, August, and September.

Please consider helping the INN to help all these children.

Your donation — in whatever amount you can afford — supports children, families, senior citizens, veterans, and anyone else who has fallen on hard times and needs a plate of kindness and the nourishment of knowing someone cares.

Please send your donations to: The INN, Attn: Dave Golbert, 211 Fulton Street, Hempstead, N.Y. 11550.

Checks should be made payable to: The INN.
