Readers Write: Elect Judge Scott Fairgrieve

The Island Now

I am a good friend of Judge Scott Fairgrieve. I am requesting your vote for him on March 18, for Mineola Village Justice. Due to mandatory age limitations under the New York State Constitution, he is required to retire from the Nassau County District Court shortly. Fortunately, there is no age limitation for the part-time Mineola Village Justice position.

Scott has served Nassau County as a District Court Judge for nearly 20 years, presiding over thousands of civil and criminal matters. He has authored over 300 published decisions, which are relied upon by judges and attorneys as precedent in evaluating other cases.

Scott takes pride in overseeing judicial proceedings competently and fairly. Litigants who appear before him are treated respectfully. Fairgrieve has acquired the judicial skills and experience required to be an excellent Mineola Village Justice.

Therefore, I am requesting that you elect Judge Scott Fairgrieve on March 18 as Mineola Village Justice.

My deceased husband Tony worked with Scott on the Mustang Run for over 20 years. I know the tremendous effort it took to make this event very successful. This event raised tens of thousands of dollars for many Mineola organizations, such as the Mineola Fire Department, the Mineola PAL, the Mineola Athletic Association, the Mineola Ambulance Corps, the Mineola Auxiliary Police. etc. In addition, Scott was able to gather enough volunteers to have every single street corner of this 5K Race covered for the safety of the race participants.

Please vote for Judge Scott Fairgrieve on March 18 for Village Mineola Justice.
