Readers Write: Clinton-Trump comparisons a false equivalent

The Island Now

It’s more than “ interesting” that those who are seemingly not alarmed by President Trumps curious behaviors mostly justify the worst  possible causations by brushing them aside with, “Oh yeah, Hillary was worse! And so’s her old man!”

I must have missed the news stories of the trial in which Hillary was found guilty of being a “Proven Crook.”

But we all do know she killed Vince Foster.

Using the Clintons as a red herring every time President Trump is reported to be involved in something shady is a clever distraction.

But funny thing about the Clintons, they make public all their tax returns as has all administrations till now, and so does their foundation, showing all who gave as well as  what worthy causes benefited.

Open for all to see and investigate. No loopholes. Get the point?

Yes, as you say, Evidently “we all  know that Trump is a liar,”  but (except for the rest of the world) do we all know he’s a serial “Bullsh—-r?”

And yes, I’d  ordinarily agree there’s nothing wrong with  talking or even sleeping with  Russians, (yes, I’m a nonjudgmental liberal.)

But wanting to communicate with Russia through their secure lines so that our side  (we’re still on the same side, right?) doesn’t know it, means talking to Putin directly and shielding yourself from the FBI, CIA, Justice Department, and other agencies that protect Americans from criminals, crooks and traitors.

And why is it that in the cases of Trump, Kushner, Flynn, Manifort, the Inner Circle, and players to be named later, that the recollection of meetings specifically with  the Russian ambassador and other asset seeking officials, have been washed from their memories?

It’s hard to misconnect the dots and not see the picture.

This should not be about Democrats and Republicans, but again you try to divert our attention from what a disaster of a situation you choose not to face:

You say that if Nixon were a Democrat (and Yes, I am), we would not have wanted to impeach him (concluding what? That this is all political and don’t look into Trump?)

That notion the Democratic Party condones crooks is too silly a diversionary declaration  to even confront, don’t you agree?

Most serious Democrats have not concluded as of now that a case for impeachment exists.

As to your hypothetical  but unasked question of what our posture would be if Mr. Trump were a Democrat:

For certain, at the least, WE would be embarrassed.

But you haven’t, and he isn’t, and you seemingly aren’t.

And that’s sad.

We should all be against corruption.

We should all condemn hate and bigotry and uphold our constitution and remain steadfast against our country’s enemies. We should all look to unite and not divide our people. By pigment or party.

This sordid and tragic episode seems also to be about the difference between the Harrys and Donalds,  and  the interpretation of what is meant by sign on the President desk that reads:  “The buck stops here.”

To some it says: “Take Responsibility”

To others says: “Take the Opportunity. “

To continue to be great, or to be great again, we must be united.

We needn’t name call.  Let’s seek justice and  truth together.
