It’s with heavy hearts that we share with all our friends and family that our beloved son, Richie Cavallaro passed away on Friday, Nov. 17, 2017 at the very young age of 28.

Richie is survived by his mom, Rosemarie Cavallaro of Roslyn Heights, his dad, Richard Cavallaro of Huntington and his two sisters, Adriana Manning and Dena Cavallaro.

Richie was surrounded by a large and loving family and was loved by so many for his loving heart and contagious smile.

Richie attended the Herrick’s school district and went on to study information technology at Hofstra University.

Through hard work and determination he obtained his dream job of teaching the blind technology at the Virginia State department of the blind and vision impaired.

Richie truly made a difference in many lives. He is affectionally known as “our piano” man. His love of music started at age 4 and continued to be nourished.

Richie was involved with NYSSMA, All State, the Chamber Choir at Herrick’s, the Hofstra Radio Station (WRHU) and the chamber choir at Hofstra.  Richie played the piano and guitar as well.

He filled our hearts and home with beautiful sounds that will always be cherished.

Richie’s zest for life was so inspiring and he truly saw the world and all those around him with pure love.

Richie will be missed dearly and there are no words that can take away our pain but what has provided some comfort through all of this are the happy memories we shared together. We will never understand why such beautiful and loving people leave us at a young age. Thank you Richie for being such an amazing son, you truly were a saint amongst us who showed us how we should live our lives.

Love you so much.
