Readers Write: Adam Block offered needed change to Port ed board

The Island Now

Listening to the Board of Education trying to pass a budget is like a comedy of errors.

They say they are promoting virtual education, but cannot even use a tool like ZOOM, Google Hangouts or even a simple conference call to permit the public feedback required by law.  And I wonder is this incompetence, or do they just not want to hear the voice of their constituents.  And I am not sure which is worse.

Either way, I feel uncomfortable with their control over $160 million budget, especially at a time when our community is so vulnerable.

We need change at the Port Washington school board.  The parents are unhappy with the online schooling, they want more and the board seems unwilling or unable to respond.  Fortunately, we now have a choice.

A long time Port Washington resident named Adam Block has entered the election to give us a new perspective and new ideas.  He is a product of Port public schools, a Harvard alum a former economist for Congress and has kids in the district.

We need a new voice to represent the people.  I am voting for Adam Block for School Board.
