Covid 19 – Trump has mismanaged this pandemic from the beginning. His failure to promote the wearing of masks, avoiding crowds and following social distancing has led to the needless deaths of thousands of Americans. Trump’s recklessness led to his own infection.
Putin – Russia wants to divide and weaken America and its allies. Many of Trump’s actions help Putin achieve these goals. Trump is beholden to Vladimir Putin. The only question is: why.
Debt – It was recently revealed that Trump owes over $400 million in debt that he has personally guaranteed. Who does he owe this to and what national security risks does this raise?
Mental Illness – It is clear that Trump is a malignant narcissist. He has a personality disorder and has no empathy. He has also been called a sociopath and a psychopath. These diagnoses have been confirmed by his niece, Mary Trump, a trained psychologist.
Incompetence – Trump has shown he has minimal management skills. He is not interested in gathering facts or consulting with experts. He governs by his gut. That is not acceptable for the president of the United Sates.
Fascism – Yes, Trump has exhibited signs of fascism. He has never had to answer to anyone in his life. He attacks the free press as the enemy of the people. He divides Americans between “us” and “others.” He is trying to suppress the vote by claiming fraud, even though there is no evidence. And he is refusing to say he will support an orderly transition of power if he loses the election.
Climate Change – 97 percent of scientists agree we are suffering from man-made climate change. We have suffered unprecedented fires in the West and hurricanes in the Gulf. Yet Trump has reversed many actions designed to slow and reverse greenhouse gases.
Economy – Trump inherited a seven-year economic expansion. He signed a massive tax cut for the rich that did little for the middle class. He is refusing to take further action to help the tens of millions of Americans suffering from job losses due to his mismanagement of the coronavirus.
Racism – Trump has a long history of racism. He and his father were fined by the Nixon administration in the 1970’s for failing to rent apartments to Blacks. He supports white nationalists and rightwing extremist groups.
Healthcare – The Trump Administration is actively supporting a lawsuit to be heard by the Supreme Court next month to overturn Obamacare. This will result in 20 million Americans losing healthcare. It will also allow insurance companies to discriminate against people with pre-existing conditions. Trump has no plan to replace the healthcare he wants to destroy.
The future of our democracy is on the line. The answer is to elect Joe Biden as our next president by an overwhelming margin.
