A seasoned realtor is expanding his reach in Nassau County by opening a RE/MAX Family Matters office in Floral Park.

“I love Nassau County,” said Paul Ruddock, licensed real estate broker and owner of the new office. “If you look at the company’s name it’s RE/MAX Family Matters, and this particular community of Nassau County it’s a lot of families that live here so I thought it’s the perfect place.”

Ruddock has been in real estate for 17 years.

The new RE/MAX Family Matters office is located at 271 Jericho Turnpike.

After doing “mom and pop real estate” for a while, Ruddock said he wanted to work with the brand name real estate company to help both families in the community and others starting out in the industry.

Ruddock said buying and selling a home is typically a family matter.

“You’re buying a house for you and your family and kids, I thought it was the perfect place for me to start that new transition or that new objective that I’m trying to reach,” Ruddock said.

Ruddock said that buying a home can be a stressful process. It is Family Matters’ goal to “identify what each family needs and assist them to make the best decision,” he said.

Each member of the real estate team works to ensure transactions go smoothly, Ruddock said.

Ruddock said the new office for him is more of a “retirement entity.” One of his goals, he said, is to help others build their own real estate platforms.

Ruddock said he enjoys teaching his craft and training professionals early in their careers. In the last couple of years, he said, he hasn’t been able to do so as much working with other experienced realtors.

“It’s a new transition again for me to get back to that space,” Ruddock said. “I think it keeps you alive it makes you proud to see people you know reach plateaus they thought they’d never reach. I’ve seen people I brought into the business open their own offices, it’s a great, self-fulfilling feeling.”

The company plans on bringing eight to 10 more real estate professionals on board by the end of the first quarter of 2018, according to a release.

Ruddock said he’s “looking for new blood to come and help me build this company for where it needs to be.”
