Radio-style reading of ‘A Christmas Carol’

The Island Now

In what has become a holiday tradition, Adelphi University’s Performing Arts Center will be presenting a live radio-style reading of Charles Dickens’ timeless classic, “A Christmas Carol,” by student actors on Sunday, Dec. 20, at 2 p.m. at the AUPAC’s Olmsted Theatre at 1 South Avenue in Garden City.

This popular adaptation is dramatized by Barbara Field and directed by Brian Rose, Adelphi Department of Theatre professor, who also plays the role of Ebenezer Scrooge.

Rose will be joined by more than a dozen Department of Theatre students who will bring to life Bob Cratchit, Tiny Tim and the other characters.

The event is free, but audience members are encouraged to bring a can or box of non-perishable food as a donation to the Mary Brennan Interfaith Nutrition Network of Hempstead.
