Port Washington Youth Activities’s 2019 spring sports season registration is now underway, again offering a full slate of sports for all boys and girls from kindergarten to seventh grade.

These include league play as well as developmental programs in baseball, softball, and lacrosse for children in kindergarten through the second grade.

In addition, PYA again features tennis, martial arts, roller hockey, and yoga. Ages vary for these programs. Check out www.pyasports.org/programs.

The PYA baseball, softball, and lacrosse fields located at the Lions Field complex at the end of Glen Lane in Port Washington comprise one of the finest natural grass outdoor playing facilities in Nassau County.

PYA operates the only Little League sanctioned baseball and softball programs in Port Washington. The softball program for children in second through seventh grades will participate in a local league by age group with games played at Lions Field and surrounding towns.

Our baseball program features an in-house intramural program as well as the option to participate in both intramural and travel baseball.

PYA proudly abides by Little League policies including background checks for its volunteers and coaches. The organization also has a Little League-approved safety plan in place for its facilities as PYA feels that parents should accept only the best and safest program for their children.

The travel lacrosse program for boys in first through sixth grades and girls in second through seventh grades is a wonderful tradition in Port Washington. Travel lacrosse is sold out at this point, but come down to Lions Field to check it out on Saturdays and Sundays.

The roller hockey program takes place at the Manorhaven Park roller hockey rink. PYA tennis is run indoors at the Port Washington Tennis Academy on Harbor Road. Martial arts powered by Team Tokey Hill takes place at 95 Seaview Blvd. in the industrial park off of West Shore Road, and PYA “Yoga For Athletes” is held at Yoga Life at 939 Port Washington Blvd. just north of Campus Drive

You can view the PYA website for additional information, applications, and online registration with credit card payment under www.pyasports.org/register in the top banner.  Application forms are also available at Arena Sports at 52 Main St.

For additional information, call PYA at 516-944-7921. Please be aware that registrations for certain sports are subject to deadlines and roster limits, so the organization recommends that parents should sign up your child for their spring sport as soon as possible to avoid being closed out.
