LEGAL NOTICE

The Board of Trustees of the Village of Kings Point will hold public hearings at 9:00 p.m., on June 15, 2021, at the Village Hall, 32 Steppingstone Lane, Kings Point, New York 11024, with respect to Bills 7, 8, 9, and 10 of 2021, which read, respectively, as follows:1. Bill 7 of 2021, A local law amending Chapter 30, Police Commissioners, Board of, of the Code of the Village of Kings Point.Be it enacted by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Kings Point.Section 1. Subsection B, of ß 30-2, Establishment; composition, of Chapter 30, Police Commissioners, Board of, of the Code of the Village of Kings Point, is hereby amended to read as follows:ìThe Commission shall consist of three members. One member shall be a qualified resident of the Village or a person who previously served on the Commission for at least 10 years and is a resident of the County of Nassau. The second member shall be a member of the Board of Trustees of the Village. The third member shall be a person with at least 10 years of professional police experience. Said Commission shall appoint its Chairman.îSection 2. Effective date. This local law shall take effect immediately.2. Bill 8 of 2021, A local law amending Chapter 134, crossing curbs and sidewalk areas restricted; exception; permits, of the Code of the Village of Kings Point.Be it enacted by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Kings Point.Section 1. Subsection A of ß 134-16, Crossing curbs and sidewalk areas restricted; exception; permits, of Chapter 134, Streets and Sidewalks of the Code of the Village of Kings Point, is hereby amended to read as follows:ìNo motor vehicle or construction equipment or any part thereof that is entering a property to perform work for which a permit from the Building Department is required, shall cross any curb, sidewalk, or driveway located on a public road in the Village without a curb-crossing permit. In issuing such permit the Building Inspector may impose conditions to protect or minimize damage to the curb, sidewalk, driveway, and/or road. In addition to the fee for such permit, a bond, in the amount determined by the Board of Trustees, may be required to assure or perform the restoration of the curb, sidewalk, driveway, and/or road from any damage caused by such crossing.îSection 2. Effective date. This local law shall take effect immediately.3. Bill 9 of 2021, A local law amending the Code of the Village of Kings Point with regard to the assessment of costs for property maintenance performed by the Village of Kings Point.Be it enacted by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Kings Point.Section 1. Subparagraph c, of paragraph 1, of subsection B, of § 117-9, Notice of Violation; abatement; hearing; appeals, of Chapter 117, Property Maintenance, of the Code of the Village of Kings Point, is hereby amended to read as follows:ì(c) Shall state that the person served, or any other interested person, may request a hearing before the Superintendent of the Building Department prior to effecting all or any part of the violations. Such request must be made in writing and received by the Building Department at the Village Hall within five days from service of the notice of violation. If said five-day period ends in a day when the Village Hall is close, the period shall be extended to the next day that the Village Hall is open. The failure to file within said five-day period shall be deemed a waiver of any right to appeal the decision.îSection 2. Paragraph 3 of subsection B, said § 117-9, is hereby amended to read as follows:ì(3) Any party aggrieved by the decision of the Superintendent, within five days of notice of the decision, which may be oral or in writing, may appeal said decision to the Board of Trustees. If said five-day period ends in a day when the Village Hall is closed, the period shall be extended to the next day that the Village Hall is open. The failure to file within said five-day period shall be deemed a waiver of any right to appeal the decision.îSection 3. The penultimate sentence in § 117-10, Emergencies, of said Chapter 117, is hereby amended by changing the words ìLocal Justice Courtî to ìJustice Court of the Villageî.Section 4. The last sentence in subsection A of § 117-11, Performance of work by Village; assessment of costs, of said Chapter 117, is hereby amended by changing the words ìsubject to the approval of the Board of Trustees or, in the event of an emergency, subject to the approval of the Mayorî to ìsubject to the approval of the Mayorî.Section 5. The first sentence in subsection D of said § 117-11, is hereby amended by changing the words ìthe permission of the Board of Trustees or the Mayorî to ìthe permission of the Mayorî.Section 6. Effective date. This local law shall take effect immediately.4. Bill 10 of 2021, A local law amending the general provisions of Chapter 88, Flood Damage Prevention, of the Code of the Village of Kings Point. Be it enacted by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Kings Point.Section 1. Paragraph 1, of subsection B, of § 88-3, General provisions, of Chapter 88, Flood Damage Prevention, of the Code of the Village of Kings Point, is hereby amended by adding a new subparagraph c, to read as follows:ì(c) Letter of Map Revision, Case Number 19-02-0330P effective August 5, 2020, amending Flood Insurance Rate Map panel 36059C0203G.î Section 2. Effective date.
