A Glen Cove man was arrested in Mineola on Wednesday for allegedly initiating a high-speed chase with police through Uniondale last week and attempting to break into a T-Mobile store in Flower Hill last year.

Rashawn Bellamy, 26, was apprehended in the rear of 262 Old Country Road and charged with a variety of traffic violations and a third-degree count of attempted burglary.

After he was pulled over on Earl Ovington Boulevard in Uniondale on April 9 at 12:35 a.m., Bellamy allegedly sped off in the 2011 BMW he was driving and nearly struck an officer with his car.

Police allegedly chased Bellamy but later terminated their pursuit.

Bellamy had been wanted for allegedly burglarizing a T-Mobile in August 2013. Police said he broke into the store at 2:24 a.m. by prying open a rear door.

When police arrived at the scene, Bellamy allegedly left behind the 2009 Porsche he had been driving and fled on foot.

Bellamy was arraigned on Thursday in First District Court in Hempstead.
