Performances at Steppingstone Park

Michele Bernstein Siegel

With over 50 years of entertainment experience and excellent vocal talents, Emil Stucchio and The Classics are performing Saturday, Aug. 3 at 8 p.m. in Steppingstone Park. Emil Stucchio and The Classics continue to receive rave reviews from audiences coast to coast.

Their first release, “Cinderella” hit the national Top 100 and their hits “Till Then” and “P.S. I Love You” followed, making it into the Top 40.

Their versatility ranges from the songs of the ‘50s to contemporary standards, from Italian to English, all complete with outrageous comedy routines. Recent performances include Radio City Music Hall, The Metropolitan Museum, Carnegie Hall, Town Hall, The PNC Bank Arts Center, Mohegan Sun Casino, Philharmonic Performing Arts Center, Florida’s Kravis Center for The Performing Arts, The Capitol One Theater in Westbury, Nassau Coliseum and numerous national television appearances as well. A good time is guaranteed for all.

Sunday, Aug. 4 at 8 p.m., DALA will perform (with Dave Sear opening). Great Neck’s Dave Sear will start the evening off with his powerful, knee-slapping, foot-stomping folk music. Sear has shared the stage with every folk singer over the years, from Woody Guthrie to Pete Seeger.

Best known as host/producer of the nationally syndicated “Folk Music Almanac” broadcast over public radio stations all over the United States, Sear is also a gifted musician/songwriter. Sear presents an exciting, live concert singing about life across generations and takes a broad look at America through the eyes of songwriters as diverse as Bob Dylan and Merle Haggard.

Join us for this historical journey by a man who has lived it, sung it and brings it to life through his music.

DALA, (Sheila Carabine and Amanda Walther) is a Canadian acoustic-folk two-piece musical group. They met in their high school music class, bonding over their shared love of music and wrote their first song together in 2002.

Their first record was then released on an independent label in 2005 and was swiftly snapped up by Universal that same year. Their recent live album, “Girls from the North Country,” earned them their first Juno Award nomination. Drawing upon influences like The Beatles, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young and Bob Dylan, DALA looks for their own musical plane and are successful at creating their own personal style. They write songs that are catchy and create the rich harmonies that have become their trademark. A soprano and an alto voice that sing from the heart, it is certain to be a magical evening.
