Penn Toyota unveils renovated facility

The Penn Toyota car dealership in Greenvale unveiled its newly-renovated showroom at a ribbon-cutting ceremony on April 19.

Dealership general manager Christopher Penn said the dealership, located at 2400 Northern Boulevard, expanded its showroom as well as its service and parts departments, and now allows for more amenities for customers and room for additional employees to join the location.

“The old facility could not handle the capacity that we needed,” Penn said. “It was pretty much a complete knockdown and rebuild of an automobile dealership.”

Construction on the nearly 18-month project, however, did not force the dealership to close down, as Penn said employees worked out of trailers and moved to other parts of the building as the projected neared completion.

The family-owned and operated dealership has been in existence for more than 35 years and has approximately 70 employees.

“Thanks to the new construction, and greater facilities, we can bring more efficiency and conveniences to our customers, as well as a better work environment for our growing employee base,” Penn said.

East Hills Mayor Michael Koblenz, in attendance for the ceremony with Deputy Mayor Manny Zuckerman and Trustee Gary Leventhal, said Penn Toyota “was a great neighbor and true friend to East Hills. We are fortunate and proud,” according to a release. He emphasized “to have your dealership as one of our finest and proven businesses and we hope Penn Toyota continues to grow and prosper in the future.”

Penn said the village was an integral part of the project, helping with the design and architecture of the new showroom as well as with signage once construction began.
