A Plandome Road office was ravaged in a fire on Friday, according to the Manhasset-Lakeville Fire Department.
Shortly after 6 p.m., the department’s companies were alerted to a fire at 47 Plandome Road, which housed the law offices of Marchese and Maynard.
Second Deputy Chief Geoffrey Weisburd was the first to respond, the department said in a statement, and was advised that a Nassau County police detective was at the scene reporting a building fire with heavy smoke.
Engine 8711 and Ladder 8744 arrived within six minutes of the initial call. Four handlines were then stretched and operated at the scene by all five the Fire Department’s companies.
Mutual aid was provided at the scene by the Port Washington Fire Department, the Great Neck Vigilant Fire Department and the Plandome Fire Department, as well as the Nassau County fire marshal’s rehab unit.
The fire was placed under control at 7:11 p.m., and all units were released from the scene at 8:16 p.m. by Department Chief William Mazurkiewicz.
While two firefighters received care for minor injuries by Manhasset-Lakeville’s ambulance unit, no civilian injuries were reported.
The law office of Marchese and Maynard announced on its website that the business had moved to 1129 Northern Blvd., Suite 303. Efforts to reach the office for comment were unavailing.
A representative of the Nassau County fire marshal’s office said the incident was under investigation.
Efforts to reach the Manhasset-Lakeville Fire Department for details on the fire’s cause and the extent of the damage were unavailing.
