What is the most important duty of the President of the United States?
It is not health care, income inequality, closing GITMO and a host of other domestic issues. The most important duty is to insure the security of our nation and its people. Period.
To date,Obama is a miserable failure. And please, do not tell me about drone strikes and killing Osama bin Laden.
His “reset button” with Putin, a KGB thug, has proven that Obama is an absolute amateur in understanding how to deal with affairs international. Someone just opined that Putin is playing chess while Obama is playing marbles. And this was kind.
The Czech Republic and Poland desperately wanted anti-missile protection on their soil. Putin didn’t. Obama caved into this Russian democracy hating enemy while getting nothing in return. Putin is playing Obama like a Stradivarius.
When this commander-in-chief told Syria’s leader that using chemical weapons on its people would have very serious consequences.
In fact, Obama drew a red line in the sand to solidify his point. Assad used Chemicals. Obama’s solution? He had Putin step in to save Obama’s bacon.
So, what is happening internationally that Obama should be monitoring and preparing for action? We know that Russia is in the process of taking over the Crimea and in time may take over all of the Ukraine.
China is attempting to take over islands that Japan has claimed. Iran has faked out Obama by accepting sanctions which ostensibly will curtail their nuclear weapons programs. [Israel must be extremely pleased with this development]. And Assad, not using chemical weapons, is still slaughtering his people in Syria while the KGB dude, Putin is supporting him. And let’s not forget that nut job in North Korea who is constantly playing games with South Korea our ally.
And remember China provides North Korea with food, energy and other resources. And remember how much of our $17 trillion debt we owe them and the interest payments we send to them yearly.
And, yes, we must also continue to worry about Muslim jihadist terrorist that want to kill Americans every chance and everywhere they can. The only places these killers aren’t are in the Arctic and Antarctic.
Americans, after the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, are fed up with war and putting our troops in harms way on foreign soil and justifiably so.
But, our military must be prepared for any future contingency for our own safety. But, will we have the systems and people to do the job when Obama has decreased the military budget every year he has been office?
He thinks his smile and power of persuasion is all that is needed in these treacherous times. He is delusional.
Our men and women, who serve our nation in the military, put their lives on the line for all of us. Obama has never served.
He is clueless. Is this why Obama approves of Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel’s latest military budget?
From The Wall Street Journal on February 25, 2014: “Veterans groups and their congressional supporters are preparing to battle Mr. Hagel’s call to slow spending on military benefits that consume a significant and growing portion of the Pentagon budget.”
“Here we go again,” said Paul Rieckoff of the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, “Washington is trying to balance the budget on the backs of those who have suffered the most.” [What do you Obama voters, some of you who have never served in the military, think about the Obama/Hagel plan? Do think they have donated any money to the Wounded Warrior Project? How about you?]
The WSJ continued: “For instance, Mr. Hagel’s budget would cut the Army to 440,000 or 450,000 troops from the current 520,000.
If sequestration remained, he said the Army would shrink to 420,000.
Similarly, continued sequestration funding would result in the elimination of an aircraft carrier and a reduction in the Marine Corps and other cuts.” And other cuts!
Thank you leaderless and clueless Obama.
