NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING Town of North Hempstead – Board of Zoning Appeals Pursuant to the provisions of the Code of the Town of North Hempstead, NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Zoning Appeals of said Town will conduct a Zoom meeting, on Wednesday, November 18, 2020, to consider any matters that may properly be heard by said Board, and will hold a public hearing on said date to consider applications and appeals. The following cases will be called at said public hearing starting at 10:00 a.m. APPEAL #20961 – Emanuel Elenis; 160 Greenway West, New Hyde Park; Section 8, Block 207, Lot 132; Zoned Residence-A.Variances 70-30.A and 70-101.B to construct an addition and a portico with less than required distance from the front property line.APPEAL #20962 – Michael Turansky; 1647 Imperial Avenue, New Hyde Park; Section 8, Block 158, Lot 324; Zoned Residence-CVariance from §§70-50.C to construct additions and a portico too close to the front property line.APPEAL #20949 – Niroun Khan; 2 Holiday Gate, New Hyde Park; Section 8, Block 278, Lot 1; Zoned Residence-AVariances from §§70-31(B) & 70-231 to legalize one-story additions too close to a side property line and a garage that is too long. APPEAL #20963 – Thorneil and Cheryl Grant; 188 Lawrence Street, New Hyde Park; Section 8, Block 306, Lot 17; Zoned Residence-BVariances §§70-40.B, 70-101.D, 70-101.B and 70-208.K to legalize a portico that is too close to the front property line and to legalize the conversion of an open porch to a screened porch  that is too close to the front property line, both on a non-conforming dwelling.APPEAL #20969 – Terminal Industrial Park, Inc., 2101 Jericho Turnpike, New Hyde Park, Section 8, Block 254, Lot 66; Zoned: Industrial-B/Residence-C.Appeal for determination that site plan review is required under §70-219.A(1)(e) to maintain paving and parking in an existing required landscaped buffer and to maintain parking in a residential district.The full list of cases for this calendar may be obtained at www.northhempsteadny.gov.  All interested persons should appear and will be given an opportunity to be heard at such meeting and/or hearing. DAVID MAMMINA, R.A., Chairman; Board of Zoning Appeals LEGAL NOTICETOWN OF NORTH HEMPSTEADBOARD OF ZONING APPEALS HEARINGNOVEMBER 18, 2020, 10:00am PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, that effective immediately and based upon notices and health advisories issued by Federal, State and Local officials related to the COVID-19 virus, the Board of Zoning Appeals will not be holding in-person hearings. Until further notice, all future Board of Zoning Appeals hearings and meetings will be held via videoconferencing, as permitted by the NYS Open Meetings Law. Due to public health and safety concerns, the public will not be permitted to attend at the remote locations where the Board members will be situated. The public, however, will be able to fully observe the videoconferencing hearing and comment at appropriate times.  To the extent internet access is not available; the public can attend and participate via telephone by dialing the number listed in the Zoom information provided below. The Board of Zoning Appeals calendar is available online in advance of the meetings at https://www.northhempsteadny.gov/bza and the public can email written comments or questions addressed to the Board at bzadept@northhempsteadny.gov. Questions and/or comments will be accepted and made a part of the record, prior to the meeting, during the meeting and up until 4:30 PM on Friday, November 27, 2020. Any member of the public who has questions regarding the aforementioned process should contact the Secretary to the Board in advance of the meeting at bzadept@northhempsteadny.gov.
