This notice is issued pursuant to Article 8 of the Environmental Conservation Law (State Environmental Quality Review Act) and the implementing regulations therefor at 6 NYCRR Part 617.
A Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) has been completed and accepted for the proposed action described below. A public hearing on the DEIS will be held on November 21, 2019, at 7:30 p.m. at Village Hall, 1420 Jericho Turnpike, New Hyde Park New York 11040, at which time verbal and written comments will be accepted. Written comments on the DEIS will continue to be accepted at the offices of the lead agency until Monday, December 2, 2019.

Description of Action: The proposed action is the construction of a Harley-Davidson facility consisting of a 2-story, 16,012 square foot building, including a 6,206 square foot repair facility in the cellar and associated parking, access driveways and landscaping. The proposed action requires a special permit application on behalf of the applicant, Lifelong Cycles, Inc, for a special use permit pursuant to Village Code ß195-7(B), and variances pursuant to ß195-23 and ß195-50(B)(2) of the Municipal Code of the Incorporated Village of New Hyde Park. The subject property is located at 1324 Jericho Turnpike, New Hyde Park, New York and designated on the Nassau County Land and Tax Map as Section 33, Block 492, Lots 21-24.

Potential Environmental Impacts: A DEIS has been prepared to examine the potential environmental impacts of the proposed action. The environmental issues addressed in the DEIS include: traffic, parking, noise, air/odor, community character, aesthetics, visual impacts, land use and zoning, community services and utilities, cumulative impacts; growth-inducing aspects; energy resources; and alternatives to the proposed action.
