Not only will Residents Forward’s Party in the Park on Oct. 5 offer lots of family fun, but it will also provide lifesaving skills. Representatives of Northwell Health’s “Saving Lives” program will be on hand to train Party in the Park attendees on four critical skills: naloxone, CPR, AED/Defibrillator and Bleed Control.

Trained personnel will provide guided demonstrations that will show participants how to use the devices needed to help people during emergencies. Commonly known as Narcan, Naloxone nasal spray is administered to people who are or are thought to be suffering from an opioid overdose. Knowing how to administer CPR an save the life of a loved one or stranger. An AED, or defibrillator, can restore a heartbeat until medical professionals arrive. Bleeding Control or “Stop the Bleed/BCON” demonstrates how to properly treat wounds and reduce blood loss until first responders arrive.

Stop by Northwell Health’s booth while having family fun during Party in the Park on Oct. 5 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Blumenfeld Family Park. Visit pwresidents.org or call (516) 767-9151 for details.
