An impressive display of soccer was evident this Saturday before Mother’s Day, as the New Hyde Park Sabercats took on East Meadow Galaxy.
The Sabercats’ trademark stingy defensive unit, lead by Devon Roth, Jake Blancher, and Akash Reddy, set the tone early. Repeatedly denying East Meadow’s offense, the defense then quickly transferred the ball to skilled midfielders Tomas Demaria, Kevin Walsh, and Roger Aguilar. Fellow midfielders Matt O’Leary, Vidaich and Samir Sakaria, joined the offensive charge, each blasting a goal.
The strong goalkeeping tandem of Matthew Bartos and Eoin Atlagh took care of the rest, not allowing a single East Meadow goal, giving New Hyde Park a well-deserved 3-0 victory.
