A New Hyde Park man was arrested on drug charges on Monday evening after police said he sold about a pound of marijuana to a Roosevelt man who had his two children in the car during the transaction.

Nassau County Police said the deal between Paul Kim, 29, of New Hyde Park, and Mansur Wajid, 23, of Roosevelt, was conducted outside of their vehicles in the parking lot of 1900 Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow at around 8:20 p.m.

Upon putting the two men into custody, police said, Kim was also found to be in possession of Oxycodone pills.

Wajid’s children, ages one and four months, were released to their mother at the scene, police said.

Kim was charged with first-degree criminal sale of marijuana, second-degree criminal possession of marijuana and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Wajid was charged with second-degree criminal possession of marijuana and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Kim and Wajid were arraigned on Tuesday, police said.
