New Hyde Park Memorial’s two entrants into this year’s Comptroller’s Challenge, Nubis and Biobox, won first place and honorable mention, respectively in the technology category on Friday, March 29 at SUNY Old Westbury. The teams of high school students presented to Shark Tank-style panels of judges with experience in government, nonprofits, academia, and business.

After Nubis was awarded first place in the technology category, the team competed in the final lightning round against the first-place winner in the social entrepreneurship category, CollegePro from East Meadow High School.
