A fire scorched four large trucks at a New Hyde Park contractor’s storage facility early Monday morning, Nassau County police said.
The Nassau County fire marshal and the police department’s arson and bomb squad are investigating the cause of the fire at Persichelli Contracting’s facility at 436 S. Denton Ave. A 911 call reported the blaze at 4:36 a.m., police said.
A Garden City Park Fire Department firefighter suffered a broken ankle at the scene and was taken to Winthrop-University Hospital, police said.
But Garden City Park Fire Chief Robert Mirabile said it was a member of the Garden City Fire Department who was hurt, as his department only had emergency medics on the scene.
The Garden City Fire Department did not respond to a request for comment.
